title: (It's been so long since i last blogged it feels weird blogging now.)
Anyways, i'm glad i'm back. :) Batam 4d3n has proven to be too long for a town with zero entertainment. But nonetheless i've enjoyed myself much spending time with dar. It just feels very comfortable now with her. :) (Note: i'm using a conversion rate of 1sgd=7,000Rp so it's an overestimation on the sgd side. This is to avoid overspending.) Found quite some food delights at Batam and our first good find has to be these goreng pisangs. ![]() Bought them at a roadside stall. Three for 2,000Rp (around 30 cents sgd). They are so good~. They're crispy outside and thoroughly soft on the inside, they just melt in your mouth. We wiped out the three pisangs and went back immediately for more. This time round, EIGHT for 5,000Rp (around 70 cents sgd). And we finished them ALL. Woot. Then we went for a massage. We had a rather bad experience with batam massage the previous time. It was so painful! And it was much more expensive i think. This time round we just found a decent massage centre off the streets and decided to give it another try. Dar had massage (50,000Rp = 7 sgd), and i had body scrub (70,000 = 10 sgd). It was an hour long. And it was really good! It was rumoured that dar "moaned" during the massage. =X. It's that good! My skin felt really soft after that, and i felt pampered. :) I'm not sure about the details of the massage centre, will update them one i confirm with dar. :) Dinner's at this open-air coffeeshop near Nagoya Hill Shopping Centre called A1 Pujasera. There are many seafood "zi-char" stalls, but the one we went to, Hai San Seafood, is touted to be "the best seafood stall in Batam". (Source: forgotten.) Woah, such a bold claim! Must go and check it out... ![]() One: 鐵板豆腐. My rating: 8/10. Sizzling hot when served, very fragrant, and 很好下飯. ![]() Two: Belachan kang kong. My rating: 5/10. Not spicy enough, too salty, disappointing. ![]() Three: Chilli crab. My rating: 7/10. Sauce is not bad, but the crab is a lil small. Four was cereal prawns. Forgot to take a photo of it. Lol. It's a 7/10. The prawns are big and fresh. But the cereal isn't fantastic. Everything totalled up to about 20+sgd. With was quite cheap. So, yay, it was a hearty dinner. :) But the unrivalled best meal of the trip has to be Nippon Tei at Novotel Hotel. Even dar, who doesn't do jap food very well, is very satisfied with it. Woot. Oh, and i have to mention that they have excellent service. :) ![]() Nippon Tei at Novotel. ![]() Complimentary appetizer. How exquisite! ![]() This is mine! Wahahahha. It's Chirashi Don i think. Assorted raw fish. As you can see, it's a generous serving. And it costs only 13 sgd! My rating: 8.5/10. The most satisfying jap don i've had ever. ![]() Dar's usual: Teriyaki chicken. The manager who served us commented "how original." Lol! According to dar the sauce is just nice. Savoury and you won't get sick of it. ![]() Chawanmushi. I just love its presentation. ![]() This was our additional order, mixed mushroom salad. ![]() Complimentary dessert. The heart-shaped thing is actually made up of red bean. I'm not a fan of red bean, but this one tastes just nice. Not too sweet. :) So as you would have figured by now, we left batam with very satisfied stomachs. :) 4d3n is a lil long. But i think we'll definitely come back batam again 2d1n for the fabulous massage and the glorious food. ![]() JCO donuts to be brought back to sg. 1/2 dozen for 30,000Rp (about 4+sgd) :D |
