Sorry for not updating. I really couldn't find time to blog. Because i started work at an advertising agency last Friday. Position: Copywriter.

Do i copy what others write? Or do i write "copy" many many times?

In case you're wondering, copy simply refers to all the text you see on print such as advertisements, newspaper, etc. So as an advertising copywriter, i write copy for advertisements. And in my case, print advertisements.

I'm on a one-month probation because i don't have any experience in copywriting. In fact, i didn't even study advertising in school. So there's a possibility i'll become jobless again after one month. =/

The nearest one, that's my desk. :)
It's still pretty neat and empty, for now.

It's been a week already. My colleagues are generally nice people. But i'm still adapting to people's expectations of me, and the company culture. If i'm going to stay in this company permanently, i'd really hope to find a balance between work and my private life. Can't reveal too much. =X

There's much potential in being an advertising copywriter. You get to suggest ideas on how to conceptualize an advertisement, pitch for your concepts, and phrase company slogans that last more than a lifetime. Like Adidas' "Impossible is Nothing," and Navy's "Be Somebody." And if you make it big, you might win awards in the advertising field and earn big bucks.

Yet behind all these glamor, it's a lot of mundane proofreading and grammar editing. Which is what i'm doing most of the time. :S

Occasionally there are perks for being in the advertising line. Like for example, receiving samples items from clients -- like these (below).

In just one week i've received a share of samples from one of our clients, XX brand for skincare and cosmetics. Above items include a mascara, some liquid foundation, and some makeup remover. Woohoo.

I'm not sure if i'd be staying in this job for long, but whatever the case, i'll give my best shot at copywriting.

:)
